The High Commission of the Republic of Fiji in Papua New Guinea plays a very crucial role in Fiji’s foreign relations with our MSG family. Whilst it is physically located in Port Moresby, it is also accredited to Honiara, Port Vila and Dili. The High Commission also is accredited to the MSG Secretariat in Port Vila.
Its primary role is to ensure the strengthening of bilateral and multilateral agreements within the countries of accreditation as well as the Melanesian sub region. The mission also looks after the various needs of the growing Fijian diaspora residing within PNG, Vanuatu, Timor Leste and the Solomon Islands.
It sees its role as important as it tries to ensure the sustainability of relations between the countries of accreditation as we move on into the future.
Our resident Honorary Consuls in Solomon Islands and Vanuatu also play an important role in liaisons on behalf of the High Commission and Fiji as a whole in their host countries.
